Clinical History:

17 year old track runner with right hip pain

Findings

Xrays Anteroposterior andfrog lateral views demonstrate avulsion of the lesser trochanter and displacement of the lesser trochanter. MRI images axial coronal and sagittal images demonstrate avulsion fracture by approximately 2.5 cm to 3 cm. There is fluid and hematoma around the iliopsoas tendon. The iliopsoas tendon causes Avulsion of the lesser trochanter by 3 cm in this case. Avulsion of the lesser trochanter is a rare injury even in athletes.
